The RGA Level 1 program is intended to develop necessary, sufficient knowledge and skills of a professional coffee roasting facility, including proficiency of basic specialty coffee roaster skills. The competencies represent the foundations of knowledge and skill of the roasting professional.

Upon satisfactory completion of the course, candidates are awarded the Level 1 Certificate by the Roasters Guild of America and SCAA. The minimum required time for completion of the program is 6 months.

8am - 10am: CB200: Basic Green Coffee Logistics: From Mill to Roaster
10am - 12pm: CB205: Green Coffee Buying Essentials
1pm - 4pm: RP223: Sample Roasting
4.30pm - 6.30pm: RP104: Decaffeination

DAY 2:
8am - 11am: GE103: Orientation to SCAA Cupping
12pm - 3pm: GE151: Green Coffee Grading
3.30pm - 5.30pm: RP110: Basic Roasting Equipment & Operation

DAY 3:
8am - 11am: RP112: Intro to Roasting Concepts
12pm - 3pm: RP120: Profile Roasting Practices
3.30pm - 5.30pm: RP208: Roaster Plant Safety Essentials

DAY 4:
8am - 10am: CP103: Customer Service Essentials
10.30am - 12.30pm: CB100: Seed to Cup
1.30pm - 5.30pm: CP151 & 152: Brewing and Extraction Principles & Principles Applied

DAY 5:
11am - 1pm: EXM_RW1: Roaster Level 1 Written Exam

COURSE FEE: S$3,370.50 (INCLUDING GST)

The course fee includes written tests.
