The NE monsoon is the season for advanced sailors, windsurfers and kiters, with
winds pushing 20 knots or more and a sea heaving with 2m swell or higher that
has a habit of breaking both far out and closer to shore. In other words, these
NE months bring conditions that are challenging enough even for hard-core
sailors, windsurfers and kiters.
The SW monsoon is a milder wind of
about 15 knots max. It does occasionally exceed this, but generally it is a
more sedate breeze, ideal for long cruising, windsurfing or kiting
runs, and of course Malaysia Sea Sport sailing courses.
