In a city that has no time for anything, there is always a time for ...the SHACKA retrospective beach bar, a rustic nod to Robinson Crusoe, an unpretentious sandy haven or a beach hideout where sun-worshippers come out to play until the lights go out, The Shack is what you make of it. Situated on Tanjong Beach, the best strip of sand in Singapore, this temporary outpost to The Lo & Behold Group's fourth offering (slated for completion in February 2010) is the quintessential retreat for weary city-dwellers.An ode to the impermanence of The Shack, its design has incorporated recycled materials into its construction. These repurposed materials lend it a beach hut appearance whilst alluding to a nautical theme. A shipping container with a roof extension houses a fully functional bar & DJ console. Tossing in a sense of raw playfulness, are colourful customized deck chairs and day beds, fashioned out of reused shipping pellets, sprinkled all over the shore for patrons to relax, as they take in the exquisite tropical sunsets and unobstructed views straight out to the horizon.Augmenting the tranquil atmosphere, a carefully curated line-up of DJs spin chilled out sets at dusk before transitioning into house grooves after sundown.
